Award Evenings

LTC welcomed Freddie Burns to present at our 2021 Awards Evening. This night is to recognise the hard work the athletes had endured during that year and to celebrate their individual and collective successes.

The England International and Leicester Tigers rugby player had just kicked the winning drop goal in the dying minutes of the 2021 English Premiership Final a week before the Awards Evening. Freddie spoke quite brilliantly about the high of winning the premiership the week before but also the lows of professional sport including the time he dropped the ball over the line when attempting to score a try, which led to him trending on twitter.

Freddie’s infectious energy and humour was enjoyed by both children and parents alike, but his words of wisdom and attitude to never giving up will stay with our athletes forever. 

Our athletes have achieved some extraordinary results throughout our 2020/21 programme, and we were so pleased to get everybody together to celebrate their successes and enjoy some much-deserved pizza.
